Balene Brush FAQ's

Why are the Balene bristles different, what are they made out of?

Balene's new generation Tyflex bristles are made of an elastomer that has the following characteristics:

1.) It is an effective material for plaque removal and respectful of soft tissues.

2.) It is hydrophobic, which means that it does not retain moisture and therefore prevents bacterial proliferation. In addition to this, to guarantee a higher safety profile, in its injection process we embed an additive that eliminates 99.9% of the bacteria that could inhabit the bristles of the brush.

3.) Our bristles maintain a constant 45º brushing angle for greater efficiency in removing plaque at the gum line.

Balene should not be compared to the conventional brush. You know why?

This is normal during the first few brushings using Balene. Our bristles are angled at 45º, so that they pass along the gum line dragging the plaque. If you have plaque buildup when you first start using Balene, the brush stroke can result in bleeding because it's cleaning out places you couldn't reach before. Do not worry, because after a few uses this will stop happening.

Why does the brush get stuck near the rear grinding molars?

This is part of the learning curve that you will have with Balene and it will stop happening as you use the brush. We recommend you open your mouth slightly and push the brush in without fear. You'll get the hang of this new brushing method and soon it'll reach every corner.

Insert your fingers between the bristles while you rinse it with plenty of water. Do this after each brushing, do not let the paste accumulate.

How long should I brush my teeth for with Balene?

Balene is designed so that, with the average time spent by the common population (between 40 and 55 seconds), maximum efficiency is obtained.

How long is the learning curve?

We like to say that the learning curve is 3 days and the truth is that we exaggerate a bit. You will feel comfortable with the Balene cleaning method once you get used to the type of movement (it is simply sliding from right to left). In most cases, people get used to it the second or third time they use the brush.
